Ramblings from the road and the studio

Rows of purring diesels

3 Mar 2004

Just got back from playing the Elbo Room in Chicago last week. Had a great time at the show and a big thanks to all who came out and supported us. An especially big thanks to Ted L. for helping me with the gear! Stairs are a bitch when you haul a 100+ pound box with you everywhere. "When I Wake Up" was debuted at the show and to my delight went over quite well. I'll post an mp3 of it in the members area in the next day or so. One other memorable experience from the trip was sleeping at a truck stop for the first time in my life, not the last I'm sure. Pulling in at 1am in my little Vanagon amidst rows of giant purring diesels, they don't shut them off for some reason, was quite intimidating. All was good until around 4am when the fellow next to me decided to do a little engine work, needless to say it wasn't the best sleep. Back in NC now and getting ready for a bunch of upcoming shows...
