moon and the earth falling side by side
desert heat and august winds blow
distance between and thoughts that grow
could i stare out that window
and look myself in the face
could i make a little sense
of all that's happening all that’s happening today
slow down walk alone
i'm losing more ground just searchin’ for a home
she says she’s tired just a little more sleep
looking for some change just a little relief
could i've been a little stronger
and held my head up high

two sails pass each other
at the edge of where we can see

took a drive tonight to confuse and relax
with the city and the lights but it all came back
i'm faster ahead but still further behind
i left in the distance what i've been searchin' to find

and move down that road

but find only what i already know
